The project consisted of new construction and renovations totaling approximately 34,500 SF. A 26,500 SF addition was constructed consisting of 4 operating rooms, 8 Labor and Delivery Suites, a new Central Sterile Supply unit, 12 Pre-Op prep rooms, 4 Recovery rooms, new Medical Records offices and new Accounting Offices. The project also consisted of +/- 8000 SF of renovated space in which a new MRI Suite was added as well as a 4 bed Critical Care Unit, a new Laboratory Suite and new Executive Offices.
The project presented particular challenges because it required extensive demolition and asbestos abatement
within an existing operating hospital. The patients and staff of the occupied hospital were of utmost concern
and particular care was taken to ensure their safety during the construction process.
